Penn State Altoona Communications students worked in their senior capstone class to create a documentary on the history of the Pennsylvania Railroad that was recently aired on WPSU-TV.
An in-kind gift to Penn State Altoona from Norfolk Southern more than a decade ago, PSU 2020, an SD60i freight locomotive, had been housed at Curry Rail Services in Hollidaysburg. Now, its ownership will be transferred to the Railroaders Memorial Museum, and it will be stored in the museum’s Harry Bennett Memorial Roundhouse.
To celebrate the 50th-anniversary release of the iconic album “Dark Side of the Moon” by Pink Floyd, Penn State Altoona will offer tribute performances, immersing audiences in the psychedelic world of the 1970s through music, movement, and light.
